For OBOS, diversity is first and foremost a matter of values, but it is a soundbusiness model as well. –The competition for competence is fierce and we need to have the best people onboard in order to succeed, says CEO Daniel Kjørberg Siraj.
OBOS fulfilled their ambition of having 50-50 men and women in the Executive team, reporting directly to the CEO. OBOS continues recruiting female leaders, and they ran a very successful 8th of March advertisement campaign with Norwegian football player Ada Hegerberg spearheading the message of equal opportunities. OBOS has a strong external position on gender equality, especially through their groundbreaking sponsorship with Norwegian and Swedish women’s football, investing 100 million NOK over four years.
OBOS is a role model for other companies within the same sector because they have a strong leadership focused on creating change – and the fact that changes happen with an impressive speed.
With regards to future change, the necessary policies and action plans are already in place. The next step is implementing these throughout OBOS, even influencing their partners to do the same.
