Study trip: SHE Invests to San Francisco
SHE Invests, Innovation Norway and Nordic House invites Nordic female angel investors to join us on a study-trip to San Francisco and Silicon Valley 23-27 September 2019. We aim to inspire women to take the step into the world of investments, and we do this by sharing success stories and experiences, and through facilitating the building of networks that support investments in early-stage companies.
The main competence educational program will be held 25-27. September by Carol Sands, The Angels’ Forum; The Halo Fund and Stanford Instructor, with 30 years of experience in investment and startups. You will be able to expand your network through on-site company visits, meetings with venture capitalists and angel investors, startups and entrepreneurs, where the sole aim is to learn from their experiences and individual business journeys.
25th – 27th of September: The main competence educational program will be held 25th-27th of September by Carol Sands, The Angels’ Forum; The Halo Fund and Stanford Instructor, with 30 years of experience in investment and startups. Same as above, this sentence isn’t very clear.
23rd – 27th of September: If you are looking to gain extra insight into Silicon Valley’s ecosystem and expand your network further through additional business visits, meetings with venture and angel investors, startups and entrepreneurs the five-day program is the right fit for you.
Notes: I would recommend writing a little more about what actually happens during the extra two days. Do you facilitate meetings or do people do this themselves?
This is the third consecutive year this study trip is organized, and for the first time we have now opened for participants from Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Sweden. The goal of the trip is to not only be inspired, but also learn how to actually invest in startups, how to create a network in the US and elsewhere in the Nordics that can inspire more women to invest.
Our aim is that this study trip will be the start of founding an Angel Network in the Nordic region, where women together can be involved in investing in startups and making other investments.
Founder of Fjong, Sigrun Syverud attended the trip in 2017, and as a collective the study group invested in Fjong.no. Sigrun was awarded Founder of the Year by Innovation Norway 2019.
Why is this trip so important?
1. Visit and soak up the valuable lessons from the world’s technology and innovation capital
2. Increase your own personal skills with regards to the assessment, investment and ownership processes of early-stage companies.
3. You will gain a solid network in Norway, the Nordic region and Silicon Valley for the benefit of future assessments as an investor. This is an investment in your own future!
